August L. De Vico—President

Mr. De Vico is a Registered Environmental Manager, a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, a Certified Safety Specialist, and an environmental engineer with over 35-years of experience in environmental, health and safety, hazardous materials, and industry management.  His extensive and diverse experience includes: health and safety, environmental; transportation, and fire protection consulting; chemical plant management; manufacturing plant management, radiation safety, electronics research and development; environmental engineering; laboratory and process plant design, plant decommissioning; compliance program development; and training.  He has experience as a municipal and industrial HazMat team member, industrial emergency coordinator, municipal firefighter, and fire/arson investigator.  .  He has provided expert testimony on environmental and safety issues including representing clients in Federal Court, New Jersey Superior Court, and Worker’s Compensation Court .  He is considered an expert in the field of Indoor Air Quality investigations, has conducted over 150 microbial (fungi/bacteria) investigations including testing for Anthrax, and has been conducting industrial, commercial, and residential IAQ and microbial investigations for over thirty years.  This experience combined with his detailed knowledge of environmental, safety, and transportation regulations enables him to ensure regulatory compliance for any type of client.

Mr. De Vico provides valuable insight into the needs and problems of industrial clients.  He has experience as a safety and environmental consultant and experience as corporate environmental engineer for a diversified Fortune 500 company with facilities and subsidiaries worldwide.  Additionally, he is recognized for his expertise in comprehensive emergency planning.  He has participated in emergency planning for large cities and has conducted comprehensive planning for the American Museum of Natural History occupying multiple city blocks in New York City , and developed emergency plans for major New Jersey State University .  He is a leader in the field of fire prevention and served on the National Fire Prevention Association’s hazardous chemicals standards committee.  His operating philosophy includes proper planning and personnel training as key factors in reducing potential liabilities and meeting regulatory compliance goals.

Selected Experience
 As President and CEO of August Compliance Solutions, Mr. De Vico is responsible for overall corporate management as well as providing the highest level of service to customers.  Major projects have included: Large remediation projects, safety program development for numerous corporate clients, indoor air quality and mold assessments, underground storage tank removals, emergency planning, employee training, and major environmental and safety engineering projects.
 
 As Vice President of an environmental and safety consulting firm, Mr. De Vico was responsible for compliance management services.  Major projects included:  emergency planning, chemical hygiene plan development, hazard communication program development, employee training, and other key safety programs for the American Museum of Natural History; design and construction management of a large automated vehicle fueling station for the City of Vineland ; and preparing specifications for and overseeing large asbestos remediation projects.  During this time, Mr. De Vico developed and conducted customized training programs, conducted environmental and safety audits, and provided compliance management services throughout the nation.
 
 As Corporate Environmental Engineer for a Fortune 500 company, Mr. De Vico developed and implemented a Corporate Environmental Audit program to identify and eliminate violations and areas of non-compliance thereby reducing corporate liabilities.  He wrote the corporate audit policy and audit manual.  He performed site assessments on numerous sites to determine the level of regulatory compliance, quality of remediation projects and regulatory reporting.
 
 Mr. De Vico personally directed plant closings and remediation projects including plant, groundwater, and soil cleanups.  He prepared a detailed decommissioning plan for a RCRA Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility that was approved by the State of Connecticut.  The plan included a detailed cost estimate, health and safety plan, emergency response plan, respiratory protection program, right to know program, confined space entry program, lock-out/tag-out program, and a detailed procedure to perform the decommissioning.  He also conducted 40-hour hazardous waste worker training and all other training for site employees.
 
 As a consultant, Mr. De Vico has filled various roles.  These include representation of international corporations in all areas of environmental compliance including work associated with the sale of property and assets and the decommissioning of a facility; liaison between clients and various government agencies; oversight of New Jersey ISRA projects and preparation of associated documents and reports; working with attorneys and reviewing contracts and negotiating agreements that lead to successful transfers of property and assets; decommissioning a chemical plant in New Jersey that was also a TSD facility; and Mr. De Vico has nuclear regulatory experience.
